New this week. Throw back to the best boxing game ever. - Wii - Punchout

So today we started playing the newest Punchout for the Wii. The biggest difference is obviously in the graphics. The same characters are back with a mixture of old and new from the original Punch out and Mike Tyson's Punch out. Some of the characters are also from the super cool Super punch out.
The game in my opinion is fun as it should be. The characters are still their typical stereotypes of the nation they belong to, but they are fun and active members of the game. My number one critique is that the game is very short. Only has 3 circuits unlike its predecessor, the Super Punch Out which had 3 circuits plus a special circuit. The added bonus to this game is that it does technically go longer by doing tittle defenses against the same characters and an even bigger bonus is having to fight Donkey Kong in the end. It's an overall fun game just to play and pass. I have not looked into the other options such as training or additional features, but I will do so when I get the chance.
Obviously the lack of multi-player is still the biggest issue of this game which, pushes players to other games such as ready to rumble and fight night. Fight night is my favorite game so far when it comes to boxing, but I still hold a deep love for this Nintendo original. I wish for Nintendo to step it up and rescue this classic game. Make it 2-4 players and I'll be the first one to try it out.

What we're playing - SNES Tetris Attack

Lately we've been getting into some vs mode on Tetris Attack for the SNES.

This is a sort of puzzle game where you have to make combinations of blocks that have the same color and shape on them. This removes blocks from your side of the screen and when you get awesome combos and chains you can send some extra blocks over to your buddy. As time passes more blocks pop up from below as opposed to coming from above in traditional Tetris. First one to let a block move beyond the top of their screen loses.

There are several single player modes as well to develop your skills or challenge the computer but multiplayer is always where it's at. Been some tense encounters over our TV lately. All of this is laid out with a Yoshi theme and characters from the Super Mario Brothers series. A great game you can pick up and get right into.
